NORTHERN ENERGY CAPITAL
Northern Energy Capital (“NEC”) is based in Calgary, Alberta and is 100% owned by Miles Lich and Ken Mullen. NEC partnered with Roundtable in 2016 and sub-advises investment portfolios under Roundtable that are wholly focused on investing in oilfield services and related industrial businesses in Canada.
Focusing on investable oilfield service businesses in both the private and public arenas in the sector, the investment opportunities available are substantial. The oilfield services sector is struggling through one of the most significant downturns in its history, and the financial and operating capabilities of many of the participants have been severely damaged. At the same time, there are signs of an upturn in both oil and natural gas supply/demand fundamentals.
The first Oilfield Services Fund was launched in June 2016 – NEC Fund I Canadian LP. The portfolio team includes highly experienced portfolio management experts Miles Lich (formerly with Northern Plains Capital Corp.) and Jim Allan (current Chair of Roundtable), and industry veteran Ken Mullen (formerly with Savanna Energy Services Corp.).
